How to Build a Balcony with Railings in Macaw's Stairs

Pick Your Material Set

Macaw's Stairs gives every supported material a matching Balcony, Railing, Platform, and several stair variants, so decide on one material first (for example Acacia, Brick, or Blackstone) and gather a full stack of that material's blocks plus the matching Balcony and Railing pieces. Craft the Balcony and Railing blocks from the same base material so the grain and color line up.

Lay Out the Balcony

Place a row of Balcony blocks along the outer edge of your building where you want the overhang. Balcony blocks are designed to sit flush against a wall and extend outward, so run them along the wall line first, then step outward one block at a time to create depth. Cap the outer edge with Railing blocks — they sit on top of the balcony floor and act as a fence-like barrier without blocking the view.

Finish the Corners

At each corner, place a Railing block facing the direction you want the rail to run, then rotate the next Railing to meet it. If a corner looks open, fill it with a single Balcony block so the floor stays continuous. Add a Platform block underneath if you want a thicker, more structural look. Test by walking the edge — you should be able to lean over the railing without falling.
