How do I craft Macaw's Stairs blocks?

What's the difference between loft stairs, bulk stairs, and terrace stairs?
Loft stairs are compact and steep for tight interiors, bulk stairs are wide and chunky for grand staircases, and terrace stairs are designed for outdoor slopes and gardens. Each has a distinct shape, so try all three in creative before committing in survival.
How do I place railings so they connect properly?
Place railings along the edge of a platform or balcony and they will auto-connect to adjacent railing pieces. Break and replace a piece if it doesn't link up, since connection depends on placement order and orientation.
Why won't my balcony or railing connect to the block next to it?
Railings and balconies only connect to matching pieces and to certain block faces, not to every block. Make sure you're using the same material variant and that the neighboring piece is oriented the same way.
Can I use these blocks with other mods' wood types or stones?
Macaw's Stairs only adds variants for the materials it ships with, so other mods' woods and stones won't have matching pieces unless that mod adds its own compatibility. You can still mix them visually with vanilla and other Macaw's mods.
Do these blocks work as actual stairs for walking up?
Yes, most variants are walkable and behave like vanilla stairs for movement, though some decorative pieces like railings and platforms are not meant for climbing. Test the specific piece in your build to confirm the collision shape.
How do I rotate or flip a stair piece after placing it?
Break and re-place the block while facing the direction you want, since orientation is set at placement time based on where you're looking. Some pieces also change shape depending on whether you place them on the top or side of a block.
Will Macaw's Stairs cause lag on a big build?
