Set Up PBR Textures for Realistic Materials
Finding Compatible Resource Packs
Lyrae Shaders works best with resource packs that include PBR (physically-based rendering) textures. These packs define how surfaces reflect light, showing details like roughness, metallic properties, and surface bumps.
Look for resource packs labeled as PBR-compatible or designed for path-traced shaders. Check the pack description for mentions of normal maps, roughness maps, or metallic textures.
Installing and Activating
1. Place your PBR resource pack in your resourcepacks folder
2. Open Minecraft and go to Options → Resource Packs
3. Move your PBR pack to the active list on the right side
4. Apply the changes
Once active, blocks will display realistic surface details—stone will show texture variation, metal will gleam, and wood will appear weathered. Without a PBR pack, Lyrae Shaders still functions but blocks appear flatter.
Testing Your Setup
Load a world and look at different materials in sunlight. Water should reflect the sky clearly, metal blocks should shine, and stone should show depth and cracks. If surfaces look flat or colors seem off, verify your resource pack is fully loaded and compatible with path-traced rendering.
