How do I enable Lyrae Shaders after installing it?
Open your Video Settings in-game, go to Shaders, and select Lyrae Shaders from the list. You may need to restart your world for all effects to fully load.
Why does my game lag so much with this shader?
Lyrae Shaders uses path tracing, which is very demanding on your GPU. Lower your render distance, disable or reduce shadow quality in shader settings, and ensure your graphics drivers are up to date.
Do I need a special resource pack for this to work?
No, Lyrae Shaders works with vanilla Minecraft, but it looks best with PBR resource packs that include roughness and metallic texture maps. Without them, you'll still see improved lighting and shadows.
Why don't my colored lights from torches and lamps show up?
Make sure colored lighting is enabled in the shader settings menu. Also check that your light sources are placed where they can actually cast light—some blocks may be too far away or blocked by terrain.
Can I use this shader with Optifine or other shader mods?
No, you should only use one shader at a time. Lyrae Shaders is incompatible with Optifine shaders and other shader packs running simultaneously.
How do I reduce lag without turning off the shader completely?
Disable or lower shadow quality, reduce render distance, turn off reflections on water and glass, or lower the path tracing sample rate if available in settings.
Why do my reflections look weird or broken?
Reflections depend on your GPU and shader settings—lower reflection quality or distance if they're causing issues, and make sure you're looking at reflective surfaces like water or polished blocks.
Does this work on servers or only single-player?
Shaders work on both single-player and multiplayer servers, but the visual effects are client-side only—other players won't see your exact same lighting and reflections.
What graphics card do I need to run this smoothly?
You need a modern dedicated GPU (not integrated graphics) to get playable framerates; high-end cards will perform significantly better than mid-range ones due to the heavy path-tracing calculations.
Why is my cave so dark I can't see anything?
Lyrae Shaders makes caves genuinely dark unless lit by torches or other light sources—place more light blocks to illuminate your space, or adjust the overall brightness in your shader settings.
