Adjust Water Reflection Quality for Your Hardware
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the key bound to shader settings (usually accessed through Video Settings > Shaders > Shader Options). Look for water or reflection-related toggles.
Optimize Reflection Detail
Water reflections in LVE Sunward are enabled by default but can be tuned. If you experience frame drops near large bodies of water, locate the reflection quality or water detail slider. Lowering this setting reduces the complexity of reflections without removing them entirely, maintaining the visual appeal while improving performance on mid-range hardware.
Test and Refine
After adjusting, visit an ocean or lake biome and observe frame rates. The shader is designed for medium performance, so you should maintain smooth gameplay even with reflections enabled. If you want maximum visual fidelity, keep settings at default. If performance matters more, dial back reflection resolution or distance.
Note on Block Reflections
Smooth blocks like dark oak wood and stone variants also receive subtle reflections. These cannot be disabled independently but are lightweight and rarely cause performance issues.
