LVE Sunward Shaders FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on the shader after installing it?
Open your graphics settings in-game, navigate to Shaders, and select LVE Sunward Shaders from the list. The shader will activate immediately, and you'll see the fantasy lighting and water reflections take effect.
Why do my leaves and grass look too bright or washed out?
Check your Brightness setting in Video Settings—the fantasy palette can interact with your monitor brightness. You can also use the Preserve Classic Block Colors guide to dial back the color intensity if the palette feels too saturated for your taste.
Can I use this shader with texture packs?
Yes, LVE Sunward Shaders works with most texture packs, though results depend on whether your pack supports PBR materials. Packs without PBR will still look good but won't show the detailed surface reflections and depth effects.
My caves are too dark even with the ambient lighting on. What do I do?
The ambient lighting in caves is intentionally soft to preserve atmosphere. Try increasing your overall Brightness in Video Settings, or refer to the Optimize Ambient Lighting in Caves and Underground guide for shader-specific adjustments.
Is this shader heavy on my GPU? Will it cause lag?
LVE Sunward Shaders is built for medium-range hardware, so most standard graphics cards should handle it without major slowdowns. If you experience lag, check the Adjust Water Reflection Quality for Your Hardware guide to scale back demanding features.
Why does the water look different than before?
The shader adds smooth reflections and PBR material support to water, making it reflect the sky and surroundings realistically. You can adjust how pronounced these reflections are using the water quality settings in the shader options.
Can I disable the leaf and grass swaying?
Yes, most shader packs include an option to toggle foliage animation in the shader settings menu. If you want to fine-tune the effect instead of disabling it entirely, see the Enhance Foliage Movement and Wind Effects guide.
Does this work with mods that add custom blocks?
LVE Sunward Shaders works with most custom block mods, though blocks without PBR textures won't show the detailed surface effects. Compatibility is generally good as long as the mods don't conflict with lighting or rendering systems.
How do I make the fantasy colors less intense while keeping the lighting?
Use the Preserve Classic Block Colors While Using Fantasy Palette guide to adjust color saturation independently from the lighting system. This lets you keep the crisp lighting and reflections while toning down the vibrant hues.
Why does my FPS drop when I look at water or reflective surfaces?
Water reflections are the most performance-intensive feature in this shader. Lower the water reflection quality in your shader settings, or refer to the Adjust Water Reflection Quality for Your Hardware guide to find the right balance for your system.
