Enable PBR Textures and See Block Details
What You Need
PBR (Physically Based Rendering) textures won't show their full effect without a compatible resource pack. Lux V1 is designed to work best with resource packs that include PBR data—these add roughness, metallic, and normal map information to blocks.
How to Set It Up
1. Download a PBR-compatible resource pack (many popular packs now include PBR support).
2. Place the resource pack in your resourcepacks folder.
3. Open Minecraft and go to Options > Resource Packs.
4. Move your PBR pack to the active side.
5. Launch a world with Lux V1 Shaders enabled.
What to Look For
Once active, you'll notice:
- Metal blocks (iron, copper, gold) gain reflective surfaces
- Stone and dirt show realistic surface texture and depth
- Wood appears to have grain and weathering
- Glass and water reflect light more naturally
If blocks still look flat, check that your resource pack explicitly supports PBR. Not all packs include this data. The shader alone enhances what's already in the pack—it doesn't create PBR from scratch.
