Adjust Shadow Quality and Performance
Accessing Shader Settings
Lux V1 includes customizable options to balance visual quality with frame rate. Access these through the shader configuration menu:
1. Press Escape to open the pause menu.
2. Select Options.
3. Look for Shader Options or Video Settings (exact location depends on your launcher).
4. Find the Lux V1 settings panel.
Key Settings to Tweak
- Shadow Distance: Controls how far shadows render. Lower values improve performance on mid-range systems.
- Shadow Quality: Reduces shadow resolution for better FPS if you're experiencing lag.
- Reflection Quality: Lowers water and surface reflection detail.
- Ambient Occlusion: Darkens crevices and corners; disabling saves performance.
Finding Your Balance
Start by lowering shadow distance first—it has the biggest performance impact. If you're still lagging, reduce shadow quality next. Test each change by walking around and checking your FPS. The shader is optimized for mid-range computers, so you shouldn't need extreme reductions to stay playable.
