Optimize Shader Performance on Lower-End Hardware
Identify Performance Bottlenecks
Open the shader menu and note which settings have the largest performance impact. Shadows, reflections, and PBR detail typically consume the most resources. Start by adjusting these first.
Reduce Shadow Settings
Lower shadow distance to render shadows only near your character. Decrease shadow softness to reduce blur calculations. These changes often provide the biggest framerate improvements.
Scale Back Reflections
Reduce water reflection quality and disable reflections on less critical surfaces like non-shiny blocks. This preserves the shader's visual appeal while freeing up GPU resources.
Disable or Lower PBR Detail
If available, reduce PBR resolution or disable PBR on distant blocks. The shader still maintains its cartoon fantasy style without full physical-based rendering on everything.
Adjust Render Distance
Lower your render distance setting in Minecraft's video options to reduce overall load. The shader will still apply its effects beautifully to nearby terrain.
Test Incrementally
Make one change at a time and check your framerate. Find the sweet spot where the shader looks great and runs smoothly on your system.
