Lux V1 BrickCraft Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on the shader after installing it?
Open your Video Settings in-game, find the Shaders option, and select Lux V1 BrickCraft Shaders from the list. The shader will activate immediately and you'll see the fantasy lighting take effect.
Why do my shadows look too hard or blocky?
Go to Shader Options (usually accessible from Video Settings) and look for shadow softness or shadow quality settings. Increasing these values will make shadows smoother and more realistic.
Water reflections aren't showing up. What's wrong?
Make sure you have reflections enabled in the Shader Options menu. If they're on but still not visible, try adjusting the reflection quality setting or ensure your render distance isn't set too low.
Can I use this shader with other mods?
Yes, Lux V1 BrickCraft Shaders works with most mods, but mods that heavily alter lighting or add custom blocks may cause visual conflicts. Test with your mod list to see if there are any issues.
My FPS dropped a lot after installing this. How do I fix it?
Lower shadow quality, reduce reflection quality, or disable wind animation effects in Shader Options. You can also lower your render distance or turn off PBR effects if performance is still poor.
Does this shader work on servers?
Shaders are client-side only, so they work on any server without needing the server to have the shader installed. Other players won't see your shader effects.
How do I make the cartoon colors less bright or more saturated?
Look for color saturation, brightness, or tone mapping options in the Shader Options menu. Adjusting these sliders will let you customize how vibrant or muted the fantasy aesthetic looks.
Why do leaves and grass look weird or flickering?
This is usually caused by the wind animation interacting with transparent blocks. Try disabling wind effects in Shader Options, or lower the wind strength setting.
Can I use this shader in the Nether or End?
Yes, the shader applies to all dimensions, though the fantasy lighting style may look different in the Nether and End since they have different ambient lighting. You can adjust dimension-specific settings if available in Shader Options.
What's the difference between PBR on and off?
With PBR enabled, blocks react to light based on their material properties—metal reflects more, wood absorbs light differently, and water looks more realistic. Turning it off gives a flatter, more stylized look but improves performance.
