Adjust Shadow Quality and Softness

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated key (usually found in your controls settings or shader menu). Look for shadow-related sliders and toggles.

Configure Shadow Parameters

Locate the shadow distance slider to control how far shadows render from your character. Increasing this value makes shadows visible across more terrain but uses more performance. The shadow softness or blur slider controls how sharp or diffuse shadow edges appear—higher values create the soft, fantasy-like shadows the shader is known for.

Balance Performance

If you experience frame drops, reduce shadow distance first, then lower softness if needed. The shader is optimized for medium-tier systems, so you should maintain playable framerates even with shadows at moderate-to-high settings.

Test Your Changes

Move to an open area during daytime to see shadow behavior clearly. Watch how shadows fall across terrain, buildings, and trees. Adjust incrementally and observe the visual difference before making large changes.
