Frequently asked questions
How do I get glow ink sacs?
Glow ink sacs drop from glowsquids when killed, or you can find them in the creative inventory. If you're in survival mode without access to glowsquids yet, check if your mod pack includes alternative sources or crafting recipes for glow ink.
Can I apply glow to wool I've already placed?
Yes, hold a glow ink sac in your hand and right-click on any placed wool block, carpet, bed, or banner to apply the glowing effect directly in the world.
What's the difference between right-clicking wool and crafting glowing wool?
Right-clicking applies glow to blocks already in your world. Crafting a glow ink sac with wool in the crafting menu creates a glowing wool item in your inventory that you can place later—useful for planning builds before placement.
Do glowing wool blocks emit light like lanterns?
Yes, luminous wool blocks emit light and illuminate the area around them, making them useful for decorative lighting in builds. The glow effect is most visible when you lower your brightness settings in-game.
