Reduce Eye Strain in Dark Caves and Dungeons

Enable Adaptive Brightness

Open shader settings (Right Shift + R) and find the Lighting or Ambient Light section. Look for options labeled Ambient Occlusion or Cave Brightness.

Brighten Dark Areas

Increase the ambient light slider to lift shadows in underground spaces without washing out the overall image. This makes caves and dungeons more navigable while preserving the shader's atmospheric feel.

Balance Light Rays

If light rays (god rays) from torches or lava feel too intense in confined spaces, reduce the Light Ray Intensity slider. This prevents harsh glare when mining or exploring.

Fine-Tune Shadows

Adjust Shadow Softness to make dark corners less harsh. Softer shadows reduce contrast strain on your eyes during long mining sessions.

Test Your Changes

Enter a deep cave or dungeon and spend a few minutes there. If headaches or eye fatigue occur, increase ambient light further. The goal is visibility without losing the shader's moody atmosphere.
