• Distance from the most dangerous structures

A building on the map's edge or a cleared hilltop works well.

Fortify Your Shelter

Reinforce your base with:

• Solid walls and a roof to prevent mob entry
• Multiple exits for escape routes
• Torches or lighting to prevent spawning
• A storage area for organizing loot from lucky blocks

Create Supply Stations

Set up organized storage:
