Finding and Looting Hopo Ruins Chests with Upgraded Loot
Where the Loot Lives
Hopo Ruins generate scattered structures across the world, and Loot Integrations rewrites the chest tables inside them so they pull from vanilla and modded loot pools instead of the original sparse contents. The chests themselves are unchanged — only what spawns inside them is upgraded.
Practical Looting Route
- Scout surface ruins first. They are easier to spot and often contain the same upgraded tables as buried sections.
- Dig down when you find a ruin with a collapsed floor or stairwell; Hopo often hides a second chest below the visible structure.
- Bring a shovel and pickaxe. Some ruin chests sit behind dirt, gravel, or cracked stone that you will need to clear.
- Open every chest even if the structure looks picked over — the integration applies per-chest, so an unopened container still rolls from the improved table.
- Watch for trapped or mob-guarded ruins. Better loot is not worth dying for, so clear threats before looting.
What to Expect
Because the loot is sourced from comparable vanilla tables plus any compatible loot mods you have installed, you may find anything from basic supplies to enchanted gear. The variety scales with your mod list, so a modded pack will feel noticeably richer than vanilla-plus-Hopo alone.
