How to Fix Missing or Empty Chests in Formations Structures

Common Causes

Empty or oddly empty chests usually mean a loot table failed to resolve. This happens when a referenced mod was removed, when two loot mods override the same table, or when the world was generated before you added Loot Integrations.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Check that Formations and Loot Integrations are both present and enabled. The integration does nothing without Formations structures to attach to.

2. If you removed a mod that previously supplied loot entries, the table may now reference missing items. Re-add the mod or accept that those entries drop out.

3. Load a brand-new world and open a chest in a freshly generated Formations structure. If loot appears there but not in your old world, the issue is stale generation, not a bug.

4. Look for datapack conflicts. Any pack that overrides chests loot tables can silently replace the integration's entries.

5. Check your log for loot table parse errors after world load — these usually name the offending table.

When It's Not Fixable

Some structures intentionally have sparse chests. If only a few chests are empty and others are full, that's normal variance, not a failure.
