How to Find Formations Structures and Loot Chests in the Overworld and Nether

Locating the Structures

Loot Integrations only changes what's inside chests — it doesn't spawn structures. You still need Formations to generate its Overworld and Nether builds. Exploration is the main method: travel far from spawn, cross biomes, and check the Nether by bridging across lava seas and hunting along fortress-adjacent terrain.

Practical Search Tips

1. Bring a stack of blocks, food, and a bed or respawn anchor so you can range further without dying.

2. In the Overworld, scan for unusual silhouettes on the horizon — Formations structures tend to be larger than vanilla ruins and stand out against flat terrain.

3. In the Nether, look for builds embedded in basalt deltas, soul sand valleys, and near lava shores. Many Nether structures sit at mid-height, so check both ceiling and floor level.

4. Use a structure-locating command if your world allows cheats; otherwise rely on elytra or a fast mount to cover ground.

5. Once inside, loot every chest — the integration distributes rewards across multiple chests per structure, so skipping one may mean missing the best roll.

Remember that loot is rolled per chest on generation, so two runs through the same structure type can yield very different results.
