How to Get Themed Names Like "Fishing Rod of the Siren" on Your Items
Why some items get themed names
When an item has one or two enchantments, the generator has enough signal to build a descriptive, enchantment-flavored name — the kind of result that produces
things like a fishing rod named after a siren. Items with three or more enchantments get a purely random name instead, because there is no single theme to anchor to.
Getting a themed result reliably
1. Decide which enchantment you want the name to reflect.
2. Apply only that enchantment, or at most a second one, to the item.
3. Run the item through a loot table that calls name_enchanted_item, or use a command that rolls that table.
4. If the name does not match your expectation, re-roll — the pool is random within the theme, so repeated rolls give different results.
Controlling the theme
If the built-in pools do not contain the words you want, add your own via a datapack so the enchantment-linked pool includes your vocabulary. This is the practical route to a specific style of name without touching the mod itself.
Avoid over-enchanting
Stacking many enchantments pushes the item into the random-name branch and you lose the thematic link. If a themed name matters more than raw power, keep the enchantment count low.
