How to Add Your Own Names and Words to the Generator
Where custom names live
The generator pulls its vocabulary from data, not from hardcoded strings. That means you extend it with a datapack (for the name pools and logic) and, where the mod expects display text, a resource pack. You are not editing the mod jar.
Building a datapack for extra names
1. Create a datapack folder structure with a data directory and a namespace of your choosing.
2. Add the JSON files the mod reads for name generation, matching the paths and schema shown in the mod's technical documentation.
3. Populate the pools with your own words — themed sets work well, e.g. one pool for fiery prefixes and another for oceanic suffixes.
4. Include the datapack in your world and run /reload.
5. Roll a test item with the name_enchanted_item function and check whether your words appear.
Matching names to enchantments
If you want a name to appear only for certain enchantments, keep those entries in the pool tied to that enchantment rather than in the general random pool. Items with one or two enchantments draw from enchantment-linked names, so this is where themed naming pays off.
Common mistakes
JSON syntax errors silently drop the whole file. Validate your JSON before reloading, and check the game log for datapack load errors if nothing changes.
