How to Stop Missing Block and Item Log Spam After Removing Mods

Removing a mod, structure, biome, block, or item leaves references behind. The game then logs a missing-entry warning every time it tries to resolve them — often once per chunk load or per tick, which floods the log fast. Log Begone is built exactly for this situation.

Why the Spam Happens

When a world or another mod still references something that no longer exists, the registry lookup fails and logs a warning each time. Because chunk loading and tick loops repeat constantly, a single missing entry can generate an enormous number of identical lines. The messages are harmless but they bury real errors and cost performance.

Filtering the Missing-Entry Messages

1. Open latest.log and locate the repeated missing-entry line.

2. Identify the part that stays constant — typically the wording of the warning plus the name of the missing entry.

3. Add that stable portion as a filter entry in the Log Begone config, matching the format of the existing entries.

4. Save and restart the game.

5. Load the affected world and confirm the line no longer appears.

Being Careful

Filter only the specific missing entries you recognise. If you suppress the entire category of missing-entry warnings, you will also hide genuine problems from mods you still have installed. Filter one missing name at a time, and if a *new* missing entry appears later, treat it as a real signal rather than something to silence.
