Lodestone Warps Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get started with Lodestone Warps?
First, find or craft a compass and a lodestone. Right-click the lodestone with the compass to link them together. Now that compass is bound to that lodestone's location and will always teleport you back to it.
Do I need an ender pearl every time I warp?
Yes, you need to hold an ender pearl in one hand and your lodestone compass in the other, then right-click the pearl to trigger the teleport. The pearl is consumed when you warp.
Can I link multiple compasses to different lodestones?
Yes, you can create as many linked compass-lodestone pairs as you want. Each compass remembers only the one lodestone it was linked to, so you'll need a separate compass for each destination.
What happens if I break the lodestone I'm linked to?
If you break a lodestone that a compass is linked to, that compass becomes useless and cannot warp anywhere. You'll need to link it to a new lodestone to use it again.
Do I have to stand on a lodestone to warp back?
Yes, you must be standing on a lodestone when you use the ender pearl with your compass. This is the activation point for the teleport.
Can I warp to lodestones in other dimensions?
No, lodestone warps only work within the same dimension. If you travel to the Nether or End, your compass won't be able to link to or teleport you to lodestones in the Overworld.
What if the warp doesn't work?
Make sure you're standing on a lodestone, holding both the linked compass and an ender pearl, and that you right-click the pearl. Also verify the compass is actually linked by checking that you right-clicked the correct lodestone during setup.
Is there a distance limit for warps?
Lodestone warps work across the entire world in the same dimension, so there's no practical distance limit as long as the lodestone still exists.
Can other players use my linked compass?
Yes, any player can hold a linked compass and warp with it, as long as they also have an ender pearl and are standing on a lodestone.
Do lodestones need to be powered or activated?
No, lodestones in this mod work passively and don't require redstone power or any special activation. Simply place one and link a compass to it.
