How to Fix Locator Heads Not Showing or Looking Wrong

Nothing Appears on the XP Bar

If no heads show up, work through these checks in order:

  • Confirm you are on a multiplayer server with other players actually nearby — the overlay tracks players, so a solo world shows nothing.
  • Verify the head rendering toggle is enabled; it can be turned off independently of the rest of the mod.
  • Make sure the XP bar is visible. If you have no experience, the bar may be hidden and the overlay has nowhere to draw. Enable the always-show XP bar option.
  • Reopen the config and re-save in case a setting didn't apply.

Icons Are Hard to See or Cluttered

If heads are too small, too large, or overlapping, adjust the head size setting. If names make things messy, disable name rendering. If the overlay blends into the background, enable borders and increase thickness, and turn on compass shadow outlining so letters stay readable. Choosing a contrasting compass color also helps.

Still Stuck

Leave and rejoin the world, or restart the game so config changes fully reload. If problems persist only on a specific server, the issue may be server-side or a conflict with another HUD mod — try disabling other HUD mods temporarily to isolate it.
