LocalizedFishingTables Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I know which biome I'm fishing in?
You can check your current biome by opening the debug screen (F3 on most clients) and looking at the biome name, or by using a mod that displays biome information in your HUD. The mod automatically applies the correct loot table based on your exact biome location, so you don't need to do anything manually.
Do I need to do anything special to start using biome-specific fishing?
No—once the mod is installed, all fishing automatically uses biome-specific loot tables. Just cast your line in any biome and you'll start catching loot tailored to that environment.
What's the difference between fishing in a regular forest and a dark forest?
Dark Forest Biomes have their own dedicated loot table separate from regular forests, meaning you'll catch different items and potentially rarer loot unique to that darker environment. Check the mod's biome group documentation to see the specific loot available in each.
Can I fish in the End and Nether with this mod?
Yes—End Biomes have their own fishing loot table. The Nether is grouped under Miscellaneous Biomes, so you can fish there too, though loot will reflect that category rather than a dedicated Nether table.
Does this mod work with enchanted fishing rods like Lure and Luck of the Sea?
The mod applies biome-specific loot tables to the base fishing mechanic, so enchantments like Lure and Luck of the Sea should continue to work as normal—they affect catch rate and quality independently of which biome you're in.
Why am I catching the same loot in different biomes?
You may be fishing in biomes that share the same loot group (for example, multiple biomes might all fall under Plains Biomes or Ocean Biomes). Check which biome group your current location belongs to in the mod documentation to understand what loot is available there.
Does this mod affect fishing in multiplayer servers?
Yes, the mod works on multiplayer servers as long as the server has the mod installed. All players will experience biome-specific fishing loot based on their location.
Can I customize the loot tables for specific biomes?
Most mods of this type allow loot table customization through config files or data packs, but you should check your mod's specific documentation or config folder to see what customization options are available.
Does this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod should have minimal performance impact since it only changes which loot table is used based on your biome—no new blocks or complex systems are added. If you experience issues, check that your mod is compatible with your other installed mods.
What biome group does the Deep Dark belong to?
The Deep Dark has its own dedicated biome group in this mod, separate from regular cave biomes, so fishing there will yield loot specific to that deep underground environment.
