How to Remove or Replace the Default Tips

Override With replace: true

By default every tips.json uses "replace": false, which means its tips are added on top of the mod's built-in list. To get rid of the defaults, create your own resource pack and set "replace": true in assets/<yourpackid>/loading_tips/tips.json. When any loaded file sets replace to true, the built-in tips are discarded and only the tips from files that opt in are used.

Supply Your Own List

With replace enabled, list exactly the keys you want:

`json

{

"replace": true,

"tips": [

"text.mypack.tip.a",

"text.mypack.tip.b"

]

}

`

Then define those keys in assets/<yourpackid>/lang/en_us.json. Any key without a matching translation shows up as the raw key string on the loading screen, so double-check spelling.

Keep Other Mods' Tips If You Want Them

Setting replace to true only clears the base mod's defaults. Tips contributed by other mods through their own tips.json files are still merged in unless those files also set replace to true. If you want a completely clean slate, you would need to override each contributing namespace, which is usually impractical. In practice, most players use replace to trim the vanilla-style tips and keep modded ones. Reload the resource pack and restart to see the change.
