Adjusting Your Mining Expectations with the New Animation

Timing Changes

The loading bar animation is purely visual—it doesn't change how long blocks actually take to break. A block that took 10 seconds before will still take 10 seconds. The bar simply displays that progress differently, so your mining speed and tool effectiveness remain identical.

Reading Block Hardness

Since the loading bar fills smoothly, you can now judge block hardness more intuitively:

  • Fast-filling bars = soft blocks (dirt, wood, sand)
  • Slow-filling bars = hard blocks (stone, obsidian, deepslate)

This makes it easier to recognize which tools are inefficient for certain blocks—if the bar crawls, you're using the wrong tool.

Adapting Your Workflow

You may find mining feels more satisfying because progress is constantly visible rather than appearing in discrete stages. Some players report this makes repetitive mining feel less tedious. However, your actual mining speed hasn't changed, so don't expect to complete tasks faster—only to see progress more clearly.
