Loading Backgrounds FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
What is the Loading Backgrounds Structures Resource Pack?
It's an add-on resource pack for the Loading Backgrounds mod that swaps your loading screens to show images of Minecraft structures, both vanilla and modded, rendered with shaders. It does nothing on its own, so the base Loading Backgrounds mod must be installed for it to work.
How do I get the Structures pack to actually show up on my loading screens?
Enable the resource pack in your Resource Packs menu and make sure the Loading Backgrounds mod is also installed and active. If the mod is missing, the pack loads but no structure images will ever appear.
Do I need the Loading Backgrounds Mod to use this pack?
Yes. The Structures pack only supplies images; the Loading Backgrounds mod is what actually displays them during world loading. Without the mod, the pack is effectively inert.
Why are my loading screens still showing the default background after adding the Structures pack?
The most common causes are the pack being placed below other loading packs in the resource pack order, the base mod not being installed, or the pack not being enabled at all. Move the Structures pack higher in the list and confirm the mod is loaded.
Can I use the Structures pack together with other Loading Backgrounds packs?
Yes, multiple loading background packs can be enabled at once. The pack listed higher in your resource pack order takes priority, so arrange them in the order you want images to be pulled from.
How do I change which structure images appear on my loading screen?
The pack cycles through its included structure images automatically, so you don't pick individual ones in-game. To change the pool of images, enable or disable other loading background packs alongside it and adjust their order.
Will the Structures pack work with modded structures?
Yes, the pack is built to include images of structures from various mods as well as vanilla ones. You don't need to configure anything for modded structures to appear; they're part of the pack's image set.
Does the Structures resource pack hurt performance or FPS?
It only affects the loading screen, not in-game rendering, so it has no impact on gameplay FPS. The only cost is slightly longer or heavier loading screens while the images display.
Why do the loading screens look different from the screenshots?
The screenshots were captured with shaders, which is a rendering effect applied when the images were made, not something the pack does live. Your loading screens show the same structure images, just as they were originally captured.
How do I turn the Structures backgrounds off without removing the mod?
Simply disable the Structures resource pack in your Resource Packs menu, or move it below another loading pack. The Loading Backgrounds mod will keep working with whatever other packs remain enabled.
