Paint Custom Textures on Blocks in Your World

Opening the Block Editor

Press J to enable editor mode while in your world. Look directly at any standard cube block you want to customize—leaves, logs, dirt, stone, or any other block texture. Press R to open the painting interface.

Painting Your Design

The editor will display the block's texture as a pixel grid. Use your left mouse button to draw with your selected tool. The pencil applies single pixels, while the brush covers a wider area. Switch tools from the menu to access the eraser, flood fill bucket, or color picker.

Navigating the Canvas

Zoom in and out using your mouse wheel to work on fine details. Right-click and drag to move around the canvas when zoomed in. Press G to toggle the grid overlay, which helps you count pixels and align your work.

Viewing Your Changes

Your edits appear instantly in the world. Hold X while playing to temporarily hide your custom textures and see the original block appearance. When satisfied, close the editor to save your work to the active resource pack.
