How to Plan a Base Location Using Lithosphere Terrain

Match Your Build to the Terrain

Lithosphere's continents, deep oceans, gradual coasts and cinematic mountain ranges each suit different kinds of bases. Before placing a single block, decide what you need: water access, flat ground, defensibility or a view.

Choosing the Right Spot

For a trade or travel hub, pick a gradual beach on a continent's coast. The gentle slope into the ocean makes docks and boat launches easy, and the wide beaches give room for buildings. Being on a continent means plenty of inland resources within reach.

For a secluded or defensive base, look at cliff tops near mountainous regions. The steep faces limit easy access, and the broader, less pointy peaks of Lithosphere's ranges give you usable ground on top rather than a single narrow spike.

For an island outpost, use the archipelagos scattered through the deep oceans. These are isolated, which is good for farms or storage, but remember that deep oceans are wide — plan for long boat trips to the mainland.

Whichever you choose, scout the surrounding terrain first. Check whether the coast is beach or cliff, whether the mountains connect to a larger range, and how far the nearest continent edge is. A short survey now saves a lot of relocation later.
