Linkstream Hub Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I set up the mod for the first time?
The mod runs on the server side only, so you just need to install it on your server and restart. Once running, players will see linking prompts in chat and can connect their accounts without needing to install anything themselves.
What's the security code for linking my Discord account?
When you run the link command in-game, the server generates a temporary security code and displays it in your chat. Use that code in Discord (in the bot's DM or a designated channel) to complete the connection—the code expires after a short time for security.
Why aren't my Discord messages showing up in Minecraft?
Check that the mod is bridging messages from the correct Discord channel and that your Discord bot has permission to read messages in that channel. Also verify the channel is properly configured in the server settings and the bot is still in your Discord server.
Can I turn off death messages or join announcements?
Yes—the mod includes settings to control which events get announced to Discord, so you can disable deaths, joins, leaves, or advancements individually without turning off the entire bridge.
Do vanilla players need to install the mod to play on my server?
No, the mod is server-side only, so vanilla players can join your server normally without downloading or installing anything extra.
What happens when the server starts or stops?
The mod automatically sends startup and shutdown alerts to your linked Discord channel so your community knows when the server is going up or down.
Can I link multiple Discord channels to one server?
This depends on your server configuration—check your mod settings to see if multiple channel bridging is enabled and configure each channel separately if supported.
Why is my Discord bot not responding to link commands?
Make sure the bot has the correct permissions in your Discord server (send messages, read message history) and that it's actually in your server. Also check that the bot token in your server config is correct.
Can I customize the format of messages sent to Discord?
Many servers allow message format customization through the mod's configuration files—check your server settings to see if you can adjust how player names, deaths, or achievements appear in Discord.
What if I want to unlink my Discord account?
Use the unlink command in-game to disconnect your Minecraft account from Discord; you can re-link anytime with a new security code if you change your mind.
