Link’s RPG Font Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

What does Link's RPG Font Resource Pack actually change?
It swaps Minecraft's default font texture for a fantasy lettering style inspired by The Legend of Zelda. Only the text glyphs change, so blocks, items, and gameplay stay untouched.
How do I turn the font on after installing it?
Open Options, go to Resource Packs, and move the pack from Available to Selected. The font applies the moment the pack loads, no restart needed.
Why is my text still the default Minecraft font?
Another resource pack is probably sitting above this one in the Selected list and overriding the font files. Drag Link's RPG Font to the top of the list, or remove the conflicting pack.
Does this pack change the font in menus, chat, and signs, or just in-world text?
It replaces the font globally, so menus, chat, signs, books, and the HUD all use the new lettering. There is no way to apply it to only one part of the game.
Can I make the font bigger or smaller?
The pack itself doesn't include a size slider, but you can change GUI Scale in Video Settings to scale all text up or down. For finer control you'd need to edit the pack's font files manually.
Will this font work with mods that add their own text, like quest or map mods?
Yes, as long as those mods use Minecraft's standard font renderer, which most do. Mods that ship their own custom font textures will keep their own lettering instead.
Does the pack hurt performance or FPS?
No, a font resource pack only swaps small texture files and has no measurable impact on frame rate. Any lag you see is coming from something else.
Can I use Link's RPG Font together with a texture pack like a Zelda-themed world pack?
Yes, resource packs stack. Put the font pack above the texture pack so the font files win, and the texture pack's blocks and items still load normally.
Some characters look like boxes or missing glyphs — how do I fix that?
The pack may not cover every Unicode character, especially symbols added by other mods or non-Latin scripts. Remove the conflicting mod or accept that those specific characters fall back to a blank box.
Does the font show up on servers, or only in singleplayer?
Resource packs are client-side, so the font appears for you on any server you join. Other players will still see their own font unless they also install the pack.
