How to Include Chisel & Bits Blocks in a Structure Block Template
The Problem With Chisel & Bits in Structures
Chisel & Bits stores its blocks as many tiny voxels rather than ordinary block states. When a structure block writes a template normally, those bits do not round-trip correctly and come back broken or missing. This mod fixes that by telling Chisel & Bits to write its blocks using its string save format when the template is created, so the fine detail survives the save/load cycle.
Step-by-Step
1. Build your Chisel & Bits design in the world as usual.
2. Place a structure block and set it to Save mode.
3. Set the name, relative offset, and size so the box fully encloses every Chisel & Bits block you want captured. Make sure no bits stick outside the box — anything outside is simply not saved.
4. Press Detect to find the opposite corner, then verify the outline covers the whole design.
5. Press Save. With the mod active, the Chisel & Bits data is written in its string format inside the template.
6. To test, load the template elsewhere with a structure block in Load mode and check that the bits render correctly.
Things to Watch
If the mode on the structure block does not respond the first time you change it, change it again — the second change takes effect. Keep Chisel & Bits designs inside a single structure block selection rather than splitting them across several, since partial captures lose the surrounding bits.
