Fixing a Structure Block That Won't Update After Changing Mode

The Known Quirk

With this mod installed, a structure block sometimes ignores the first mode change you make. You click over to Save, Load, or Corner mode and the block still behaves as if it were in the previous mode — the fields, buttons, or preview do not refresh. This is a documented issue with the mod, not something you did wrong, and it has a simple workaround.

The Fix

1. Change the mode as you normally would.

2. If the interface or behavior does not update, change the mode a second time — cycle away and back, or simply toggle it again.

3. The second change forces the block to refresh and it will now behave correctly.

In practice this means: whenever you switch a structure block's mode, expect to do it twice. Get into the habit of toggling, checking that the fields match the mode you want, and toggling once more if they do not.

Why It Happens and How to Avoid Confusion

Because the block does not always redraw on the first change, it is easy to start entering a name or size while the block is secretly still in the old mode, which wastes effort. Before typing anything, glance at the block's current mode indicator. If it looks wrong, do the second toggle first. This also applies after loading a world or chunk, where a structure block may appear in a stale state — toggle its mode twice to resync it before saving or loading a template.
