Understanding Hardcore Hearts

LILAC HUD includes specialized purple heart textures designed for Hardcore mode, where a single death ends your world permanently. These custom hearts maintain the lilac aesthetic while ensuring you can instantly recognize your health status under pressure.

Checking Your Display

Create or load a Hardcore world and observe your health bar in the top-left corner. The hearts should display in soft purple tones rather than the standard red. Absorption hearts (gained from Absorption effects) should appear in a complementary lilac shade, visually distinct from normal health hearts.

Testing Heart Visibility

Take small amounts of damage to watch hearts deplete and confirm they're clearly visible. Use commands or effects to apply Absorption and verify those hearts render distinctly. The contrast between normal and absorption hearts is critical—you need to instantly tell them apart during combat.

Troubleshooting Display Issues

If hearts appear incorrect or don't match the lilac theme, verify the resource pack is active and positioned at the top of your pack list. Reload textures with F3 + T and re-enter your world to refresh the display.
