Troubleshoot When the Search Won't Start

Verify Lectern Selection

Look directly at your placed Lectern and press I to confirm it's selected. You should see a visual indicator or message confirming the selection. If nothing happens, try breaking and replacing the lectern.

Check Your Inventory

Make sure you have:

• An axe in your main hand (any tier)
• At least one lectern in your off-hand

Without both items, the mod cannot begin the search cycle.

Confirm Villager Status

Ensure your Librarian is a Librarian profession (not a generic Villager). They should have a purple robe. If they're not a Librarian, use a Lectern to convert them.

Review Configuration

Open the config screen with C and verify you've selected at least one enchantment to search for. An empty search list will prevent the mod from starting.

Restart if Needed

If issues persist, try reloading your world or restarting the game. Occasionally the mod needs a fresh start to sync properly with the villager.
