libIPN Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

What does libIPN actually do?
libIPN is a library mod that provides the GUI and config-handling code used by Inventory Profiles Next and mirinimi's other mods. It adds no items, blocks, or gameplay on its own, so you only need it because another mod requires it.
Do I need to install libIPN separately?
Yes, if a mod you use lists it as a dependency. Install it alongside the mod that needs it, matching the same mod loader and game version, or that mod will fail to load.
Why doesn't libIPN show up in my mod list or add anything to the game?
That's expected. libIPN is a background library, so it has no items, blocks, or creative tab entries and may appear only as a small entry in your mod list.
How do I open the libIPN config screen?
Open it through the config button on the mod list entry for libIPN, or via the config screen of the dependent mod that uses it. The screen is shared with Inventory Profiles Next, so settings there affect that mod's behavior.
The libIPN config screen is blank or won't open — what's wrong?
This usually means a version mismatch between libIPN and the mod depending on it, or a missing/conflicting dependency. Make sure libIPN matches the game version and loader of the dependent mod, then restart.
Can I use libIPN without Inventory Profiles Next?
Yes, but it does nothing useful on its own. It only matters when another mod such as Inventory Profiles Next or another mirinimi mod is installed and calls into it.
Will libIPN cause lag or lower my FPS?
No. It only handles GUI and config code, so it has negligible performance impact. Any lag you see is almost always from the dependent mod or other mods, not libIPN itself.
My game crashes saying libIPN is missing or the wrong version — how do I fix it?
Install the libIPN build that matches your game version and mod loader, and make sure it's the same version the dependent mod expects. Remove any duplicate or outdated libIPN jars from your mods folder.
Does libIPN work on Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge?
libIPN is published for the loaders its dependent mods support, so pick the build matching your loader. A Fabric build won't work on Forge or NeoForge, and vice versa.
Can I safely remove libIPN if I don't use Inventory Profiles Next?
Yes, if no installed mod depends on it. If any mod lists libIPN as a dependency, removing it will stop that mod from loading, so check your mod list first.
