How to Enable 3D Item Previews in Tooltips

What the 3D Preview Does

When enabled, hovering over an item shows a rotating 3D model of it inside the tooltip instead of only the flat icon. This helps you inspect items with complex models, like tools, armor, or decorative blocks.

Turning It On

Open the mod's config. Look for the display or rendering section. Find the option that controls 3D item rendering inside tooltips and enable it. Some versions separate this into a global toggle plus a per-item or per-category override, so check both if the preview does not appear.

Adjusting the Preview

Once enabled, related settings control the preview's size, rotation speed, and whether it spins automatically or stays static. If the preview overlaps your text, reduce its scale or increase the tooltip's spacing. If performance drops while hovering over many items, lower the rotation speed or disable animation.

When It Does Not Show

Some items have no meaningful 3D model, so the preview falls back to the flat icon. Items rendered by other mods with custom tooltip handlers may also skip the preview. If a specific item never shows a model, check whether another mod is overriding its tooltip.
