How to Center Item Names and Adjust Tooltip Spacing

Centering the Name

By default, Minecraft left-aligns the item name at the top of the tooltip. Legendary Tooltips can center it instead. Open the config and find the name alignment option. Set it to centered. The name will now sit in the middle of the tooltip width, which looks cleaner with decorative borders.

Adding Space Below the Name

A common complaint is that the name feels cramped against the rest of the tooltip. Use the spacing option to add blank lines or padding between the name and the attribute lines. Increase the value until the layout looks balanced. If you add too much, the tooltip becomes tall and may run off screen, so adjust gradually.

Compacting Information

If you want the opposite effect, enable the compact mode. This reduces redundant lines, tightens spacing between entries, and can hide less important information. Combine compact mode with centered names for a clean, minimal tooltip.

Matching Borders to Spacing

Wider borders need more internal padding to look right. After changing spacing, re-check a few items with different border styles. If text touches the border edge, increase padding. If the tooltip looks empty, reduce it.
