Legendary Shrines Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I find shrines in my world?
Shrines generate naturally throughout the Overworld as you explore, appearing in various biomes as stone structures. You don't need to craft or place them yourself—just travel and keep an eye out for the distinctive shrine blocks.
What does it mean when a shrine is 'activated'?
A shrine becomes activated when you walk close enough to it, and the stone will visually change to show it's now linked to you as a respawn point. Once activated, you can choose to respawn there instead of your bed if you die.
Do I lose my items if I respawn at a shrine instead of my bed?
No, the mod keeps vanilla death rules intact—your items still drop at your death location regardless of where you choose to respawn. Respawning at a shrine just saves you the long walk back to retrieve them.
Can I have multiple shrines activated at the same time?
Yes, you can activate multiple shrines as you explore, and you'll see all your options in the respawn menu when you die. This lets you choose the closest shrine to your death location.
What happens if I die before activating any shrines?
You'll only have the option to respawn at your regular bed, just like vanilla Minecraft. You need to activate at least one shrine first to have it appear as a respawn choice.
Do shrines work in the Nether or End?
No, shrines only generate and function in the Overworld. They won't help you if you die in other dimensions.
If I set my bed to a new location, do my activated shrines disappear?
No, activated shrines remain active and available as respawn points independently of where your bed is. Changing your bed location doesn't affect shrine checkpoints.
Can I deactivate a shrine or remove it from my respawn options?
The mod doesn't provide a built-in deactivation mechanic—once a shrine is activated, it stays in your respawn pool. You can simply ignore it and choose other shrines or your bed when you die.
Do shrines help if I'm doing a deep dungeon run far from any activated checkpoints?
Only if you've already activated a shrine somewhere along your route before entering the dungeon. Plan ahead by activating shrines as you travel to dangerous areas so you have a nearby respawn option.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Shrine generation and activation are lightweight mechanics that shouldn't noticeably impact performance, but results may vary depending on your system and other mods installed.
