How to Roll Back Griefing and Restore Builds
Preview Before You Commit
Before undoing anything, use /ledger pre (preview) with the same filters you would use for a rollback. Preview shows exactly which changes would be reverted without actually touching the world. Always preview first — it protects you from rolling back more than you intended.
Running the Rollback
Once the preview looks correct, run the rollback command with matching filters. Ledger reverses the recorded actions, restoring blocks to their prior state. Because it works from the log, it can undo placements and removals that happened while you were offline.
Restoring Instead of Undoing
If you need the opposite — bringing back something that was removed, or reapplying changes — use the restore operation. Restore re-applies logged actions rather than reversing them. This is useful when a rollback went too far or when you want to reinstate a specific player's work.
Scoping the Operation
Keep rollbacks tightly scoped by player, area, and time. A rollback with no filters can affect the entire server, which is rarely what you want. Combine filters so only the intended changes are touched.
Practical Tips
Announce rollbacks to your staff before running them. After a rollback, inspect a few affected blocks to confirm the result matches your preview.
