Ledger Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start using Ledger Mod?
Give yourself the ledger permission node and run /ledger inspect, then right-click or left-click a block to see its history. If nothing shows up, check that logging is enabled and that your player has the required permissions.
How do I see who broke a block?
Use /ledger inspect and then click the block or the empty space where it used to be. The chat output lists the player, action, and timestamp for each recorded change.
How do I roll back griefing?
Use /ledger search with filters to find the actions you want to undo, then run /ledger rollback on those results. Always run /ledger preview first so you can see exactly what will change before committing.
Whats the difference between rollback and restore
Rollback undoes recorded actions to return the world to an earlier state, while restore reapplies actions that were previously rolled back. Use rollback to remove griefing and restore to bring back builds that were wrongly undone.
How do I search logs for a specific player?
Run /ledger search with the player filter set to their name, and add time or action filters to narrow the results. Use /ledger page to move through large result sets.
Why does /ledger inspect show nothing?
The block may not have any recorded actions, logging may be disabled for that world or dimension, or your player may lack the inspect permission. Try inspecting a block you just placed yourself to confirm logging is working.
Does Ledger Mod work on Fabric and quilt?
Yes, Ledger is built for Fabric and Quilt servers and runs server-side, so vanilla clients can connect without installing anything. Client-side mods are not required for players to join.
Will Ledger Mod lag my server?
Ledger is designed to be more performant than older logging mods, but heavy activity on large servers can still add load. Tune your logging filters and prune old entries periodically to keep performance steady.
Can I undo a rollback?
Yes, use /ledger restore to reapply actions that were rolled back. Preview the restore first so you can confirm it targets the right entries.
How do I check what a player did recently?
Run /ledger search filtered by that player and a recent time range, then page through the results. You can also inspect specific blocks they interacted with to see the exact actions.
