How to Inspect a Block to See Who Changed It

Starting an Inspection

Run /ledger inspect to toggle inspection mode on. While it is active, your chat or action bar will indicate you are inspecting, and any block you right-click or left-click (depending on your configured trigger) will be queried against the log database. You do not need to break the block — a simple interaction is enough to pull its history.

Reading the Results

After you interact with a block, Ledger prints the recorded actions tied to that position. Each entry typically shows the action type (such as a block being placed or broken), the player or source responsible, and a timestamp. If the list is long, results are split across pages.

Paging Through History

Use /ledger page to move through additional results when a block has many recorded changes. You can also narrow the output by combining inspection with search filters if the raw list is too noisy.

Turning It Off

Run /ledger inspect again to disable inspection mode so you stop querying blocks accidentally. This is important on busy servers, since every inspected block generates a lookup.

Practical Tips

Inspect the exact block face you care about, since position matters. If nothing shows up, the change may predate your logging window or fall outside your permission level. Confirm you have the right permissions before assuming the log is empty.
