Understanding Where the Mob's Hearts Go When You Mount Up
The layout change explained
Normally, mounting a mob replaces your hunger bar with the mob's health hearts. Leave My Bars Alone keeps your hunger bar in place and shifts the mob's hearts upward so both are visible at once. Knowing the new layout helps you read your HUD quickly in combat or while fleeing.
Reading the stacked HUD
1. Mount your rideable mob.
2. Look at the bottom-center. From the bottom up you will see: your hunger bar, then the mob's hearts above it.
3. Your experience bar occupies the usual spot unless a jump bar is fully charged, in which case the jump bar takes over that line.
Why this matters
- You can now watch your own food drain while also tracking your mount's health, which is useful when a horse takes fall damage or a Strider takes fire damage.
- If your mount's hearts drop, you can dismount and feed it or heal it before it dies — something easy to miss when its health was hidden behind your own bars.
- The upward shift is purely visual; no gameplay values change.
If the hearts appear in an unexpected place, check for other HUD-altering mods that might be repositioning the same elements.
