Making the Jump Bar Only Show Up When Fully Charged
The problem with the vanilla jump bar
When you ride a horse, the jump charge bar sits on your HUD and fills as you hold the jump key. In vanilla it is always visible, which clutters the screen and hides your experience bar. Leave My Bars Alone changes this so the jump bar only appears once it is fully charged — otherwise your XP bar shows through in its place.
How to use it in practice
1. Mount a horse (or another mob with a charged jump, such as a Strider with a saddle).
2. Hold your jump key to build charge. While charging, you will see your experience bar instead of the jump bar.
3. Keep holding until the charge is maxed. At that moment the jump bar appears, signalling you can release for a full-height jump.
4. Release the key to leap. The bar disappears again and your XP bar returns.
Tips
- Because the bar only shows at full charge, you can time jumps by watching for the bar to pop in rather than guessing from the fill animation.
- If you prefer to see partial charge, this mod is not the right fit — its whole point is hiding the bar until it matters.
- Combine this with keeping your hunger visible so you can monitor both food and jump readiness during long rides.
