Leashable Players Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I leash another player?
Craft or obtain a leash, then use it on another player while sneaking (holding Shift). The leash will attach to them, and you can now drag them around by moving away from them.
What happens if I leash someone and walk too far away?
The leash will break if you exceed the leash break distance, which is a configurable server setting. You'll need to leash them again if you want to continue dragging them.
Can I prevent other players from leashing me?
Yes—server admins can disable the mod entirely, or individual players can use the escape mechanic (typically sneaking or a specific action) to break free from a leash immediately.
Do I need to be in Creative mode to leash players?
No, leashing works in Survival mode. You just need a regular leash item in your inventory.
What's the difference between leash break distance and pulling distance?
Pulling distance is how far you can be from a leashed player while still dragging them; leash break distance is the maximum distance before the leash snaps entirely. Both are configurable by server admins.
Can I leash multiple players at once?
No, you can only hold one leash at a time, so you can only drag one player per leash item.
Does this mod work in single-player worlds?
Yes, the mod works in single-player, though leashing another player is primarily designed for multiplayer pranks and fun.
What do I do if I'm stuck leashed and can't escape?
Try sneaking (holding Shift) or use the escape action configured on your server—these typically break the leash immediately. If that doesn't work, ask a server admin to disable the leash or restart.
Can admins configure leashing rules per-player or per-team?
The mod uses global game rules, so settings apply server-wide; however, admins can disable the mod entirely or use other mods to create more granular permissions if needed.
Does leashing a player affect their ability to build or fight?
A leashed player can still build, attack, and use items normally—the leash only restricts their movement if you're actively pulling them away.
