Leap Mod FAQ

The Leaping enchantment can be found as loot in chests, obtained through fishing, or traded from a Librarian Villager. It's a treasure enchantment, so it won't appear on an enchanting table—you need to find it in the world or trade for it.

No, the Leaping enchantment only works on boots. You cannot apply it to helmets, chestplates, leggings, or other items.

You can double jump anytime your motion is moving downward, meaning you're falling or moving down through the air. You cannot double jump while moving upward or while standing still.

Yes, you can combine Leaping with other boot enchantments like Feather Falling, Protection, or Frost Walker on the same pair of boots using an anvil.

The Leaping enchantment gives you one additional jump (a double jump). You cannot chain multiple jumps together.

No, the double jump is automatic—when you're falling and meet the conditions, simply press jump again and you'll perform the double jump without any special key combination.

No, the Leaping enchantment only has one level. There is no Leaping II or higher.

The double jump itself doesn't reduce fall damage, but it gives you a chance to regain height and slow your descent. For actual fall damage reduction, pair it with Feather Falling.

Yes, the extra jump while falling gives you mobility to escape dangerous situations, especially useful when retreating from cliffs or elevated terrain.

Set up a Librarian trading station and repeatedly trade with librarians until one offers Leaping as a treasure enchantment book. You may need to trade with multiple librarians or reset trades by breaking and replacing their workstation.
