Build Your First Lapis Beacon Base

Gather Lapis Lazuli Blocks

Collect lapis lazuli blocks by mining lapis ore deep underground (typically below Y-level 64) and smelting or crafting them into blocks. You'll need multiple blocks depending on your pyramid size.

Construct the Pyramid

Beacon bases work as layered pyramids. The largest layer goes on the ground, with each layer above it being one block smaller on each side. You can mix lapis lazuli blocks with other mineral blocks (iron, gold, diamond, netherite) in the same pyramid—they don't need to match.

Place Your Beacon

Once your pyramid is complete, place the beacon block on top of the structure. The beacon will automatically activate and begin glowing, indicating it's ready to use.

Activate Effects

Right-click the beacon to open its interface. Select the player effects you want to activate. The higher your pyramid (more layers), the more powerful effects become available and the longer their duration.

Power the Beacon

Place lapis lazuli ingots into the beacon's payment slot to activate your chosen effects. The effects will apply to all players in range of the beacon.
