Place a Lantern on a Wall

Basic Wall Placement

Wall-mounted lanterns require a solid block surface to attach to. Hold a lantern in your hand and look at the side face of any full block (stone, wood, dirt, etc.).

Steps

1. Stand facing a wall or the side of a block

2. Hold a lantern in your hand

3. Right-click on the wall surface

4. The lantern will attach with a mounting bracket

Tips

• The bracket appears automatically and faces outward from the wall
• You can place lanterns on any solid block side—wood, stone, concrete, and more all work
• The lantern will not attach to transparent blocks like glass or leaves
• You can place multiple lanterns on the same wall at different heights for a decorative effect
• Unlike ceiling or chain placement, wall lanterns create a distinct bracket aesthetic that adds architectural detail to your builds
