Land Developer Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I start a town in Land Developer Mod?
Stand on unclaimed ground where you want your town to be, then type /mun create to establish a new municipality with a starter district. You'll need to pay the creation fee in FSMM currency, which you can check beforehand with /ld fees.
What's the difference between chunks, districts, and municipalities?
Chunks are the smallest claimable unit (individual 16×16 blocks), districts are groups of linked chunks with shared settings, and municipalities are towns made up of multiple districts. Above those are counties and regions for larger-scale organization.
Do I have to pay fees to keep my land claimed?
Yes, claimed land has upkeep fees that are charged periodically. You can see the exact costs by typing /ld fees, and fees are automatically deducted from your FSMM account.
How do I add other players to my district so they can build?
Open your district menu with /dis, then use the player access list interface to add or remove specific players and set their permission levels for building and management.
Can I sell or trade my land to another player?
Yes, you can buy, sell, and trade claimed land across all territory tiers through the in-game menus. Open /ld or /dis to access the trading interface for your plots.
How do I turn off explosion damage in my district?
Open your district settings with /dis and toggle the explosion damage protection option. This prevents TNT, creepers, and other explosions from damaging blocks in that specific district.
Can I customize how my district looks on the map?
Yes, you can set custom icons and colors for your districts, municipalities, counties, and regions through the district settings menu. These changes appear in-game and on Dynmap if your server uses it.
Does this mod work with Dynmap and Discord?
Yes, Land Developer Mod integrates with Dynmap to display your territory on web maps and works with Discord bots for remote territory tracking, so you can manage your land outside the game.
What happens if I can't pay my upkeep fees?
If your FSMM account runs out of currency, you'll be unable to pay upkeep fees and risk losing your claimed land. Check your balance and fees regularly with /ld fees to avoid this.
Can I claim chunks that are already part of another district?
No, you can only claim unclaimed chunks. To expand an existing district, you must claim adjacent unclaimed chunks and then link them to your district through the menu interface.
