How to Let Friends Join Your LAN World From Anywhere

Opening Your World to Remote Players

When you open a singleplayer world to LAN, Minecraft normally only broadcasts it to your local network. This mod changes that by handling the network configuration for you, so friends outside your house can connect using your public address instead of a local IP.

1. Load into the singleplayer world you want to share.

2. Open the pause menu and choose Open to LAN.

3. In the LAN screen, set the game mode and cheats as you normally would, then confirm.

4. The mod takes over the networking step. Instead of only showing a 192.168.x.x style address, it prepares an address your friends can reach over the internet.

5. Share the address the mod reports with your friends. They paste it into Multiplayer → Direct Connect.

Things to Check Before Sharing

  • Make sure the world is actually open to LAN; if you closed the menu without confirming, nobody can join.
  • If a friend cannot connect, confirm they are using the address the mod gave you and not the local one.
  • Keep the host's game running the whole time. If the host leaves the world, the session ends for everyone.
  • If you only want certain people in, set a whitelist or manage op permissions from the mod's player controls rather than sharing the address publicly.
