How to Fix Missing Inventory and Backpacks for Offline Players

Why Items Disappear

When a player joins without a verified Mojang account, the game may assign them a different identity than the one they had before. The result is that the world treats them as a brand new player, so their inventory, backpacks, and stored items appear to be gone.

Using the UUID Fixer

This mod includes a UUID Fixer specifically to prevent that loss by keeping a consistent identity for offline players.

1. Make sure the UUID Fixer option is enabled in the mod's settings before offline players join.

2. When an offline player connects, the mod assigns and remembers a stable identifier for them instead of generating a fresh one each session.

3. On later joins, the same identifier is reused, so the player's inventory and backpack contents are found again.

The /forceoffline Command

  • Use /forceoffline to control whether players are forced into offline mode without fetching UUIDs from Mojang's servers.
  • This is useful when Mojang's authentication is unreachable or when you deliberately want offline players to connect.
  • Because forced-offline players rely on the mod's stored identity, keep the UUID Fixer enabled so their items stay attached to the right profile.

If items are already missing, restoring them requires a backup; the fixer prevents future loss rather than recovering what was already gone.
